Waveny Park Disc Golf Course
The Waveny Park Disc Golf Course is located alongside of Waveny Park in New Canaan Connecticut. The course entrance is accessed via Lapham Road. Parking is conveniently located across Lapham Road in Waveny Park. (Shared with the Pool, Platform Tennis Courts, Waveny Lodge, Spencer’s Run and Athletic Field parking)
The Waveny Disc Golf Course has an information kiosk just inside the entrance with updates, score cards and sometimes pencils, provided by the Waveny Park, New Canaan Disc Golf Association.
12 holes on a heavily wooded course, this Fairfield County Disc Golf course is challenging, never crowded and provides varying elevation, tight doglegs and interesting drives from natural tees. There are two open-field baskets, the rest should be considered dense wood with lanes in need of maintenance.

Recommendations:
- Wear socks and shoes
- Bring water bottles – water located in front of Platform Tennis Courts
- It’s easier to find the next Tee without looking at the map.
- Check the message kiosk for Volunteer days, help improve the course.
I’ve spoken with one of the persons responsible for the Waveny Disc Golf Course. The thick foliage requires constant maintenance and this new course needs all the attention it can get. While he hacked away undergrowth, we talked about raising awareness, setting a few volunteer days over the season and lining up a tournament. The sport of Disc Golf is a fun, social game enjoyed by folks of varying age.
I was told the New Canaan Disc Golf Association is just a few people strong. Anyone interested in improving the course, participating in events, and bolstering the New Canaan D.G.A. should comment or post questions in the forum. I’ll post more info as I learn of it.
The town of New Canaan plans to sell our public parkland on the cheap to a very expensive and exclusive old-folks home to be built on top of the disc golf course so come play it while it still exists!
